[A note from Jannae: Thank you so much for your support! We have felt the love and the answered prayers. We would appreciate continued prayers for Dad to continue to gain strength and with scheduling his next chemotherapy appointment. It has been a challenge getting hold of his current oncologist, which has been very frustrating since these treatments are time-sensitive. Please pray that the current oncologist gets back to us about scheduling or better yet!!!! that an earlier appointment with City of Hope opens up so Dad can get his next round of chemo there instead.]
I haven’t had a cup of coffee since I was checked into the hospital on whatever date that was. [Jannae aside: It was Sunday, Jan. 20.] But, no coffee withdrawals and no coffee headaches – it was cold turkey!
I am getting up less in the middle of the night so that my caretaker daughters can get some sleep although Jannae didn’t help me when I did get up. [Jannae aside: In my defense, it looked like he was doing okay on his own and didn’t need my assistance. He is a strong, independent man!]
I was home alone today not once but TWICE but only for a few hours total. [Jannae aside: Taylor and I made sure Dad had enough snacks and water by him before we left, and we made him go outside for a walk so he would be tired enough that he would take a nap while we were out. We also made sure he used the restroom before we left him alone. I realize this makes him sound like a dog.]
I have been resting but not napping. Newfound snack foods that I like are honey-roasted peanuts, cheese and crackers, and beef jerky. Jannae and Taylor have been in competition to see who makes better over-easy eggs for my breakfast. [Jannae aside: I am winning.] [Taylor aside: It’s tied.]
Not sure if this is TMI, but I have been getting slight nose bleeds for the past three days. It started during my hospital stay when they put me on blood thinners. Still, it is nice to be home with a full house with my family. It feels like home. [Jannae aside: This is meant to be sung like Madonna’s Like a Prayer, but the Glee version.]

Hey Art,
The last time I saw you, you had that fancy tuxedo on. Since I had not seen you for a while, it was good seeing you even though your tuxedo was very bright . We even got to sit together at the same table chowing down on good Chinese food together. Now we must ask God for his wisdom and we must ask him to wrap himself around you. Hang in there Art! I will be praying for you.
Hi Fong family,
Thank you for the update posts on Art and the family. I do hope that all will get settled with the doctors and treatment and that Art will be able to get all the treatment he needs.
I did text Art the other day and was not sure if that was the correct cell number. If you need Gerald or I to come by and keep your dad company please let us know. We are only down the street and would be glad to assist. Is he restricted to any kind of food to eat? Once again, we are always available to help. We were not sure if your dad was up for visitors and we have been trying to get over the coughs we have had for a while.
Gerald and Bonnie
Jannae and Taylor, I don’t know you two, but I love your “asides”.
We continue to pray for all of you; still hard to wrap our minds around this.
Asking for mercy,
Doreen and I keep you in our daily prayers, Art and Pam. I also shared your situation with Rob and Jim. They too are quite concerned for you and are hoping for the best possible outcomes, too.
