Our dearest friends and family,
Dad went home to be with the Lord this morning; he was surrounded by family when he took his final breath. While we are overwhelmed with grief for this earth-side loss, we rejoice that Dad is no longer suffering and is in heaven where he is without pain and cancer-free.
We are so incredibly thankful for this community that has surrounded us in love and prayers during this journey. Your support brought us strength and joy amid this difficult trial.
We will update this blog with service details at a later date. Grateful for each of you.
Our hearts and prayers go out to you Pam, Jannae and Taylor. We saw Art when we visited Disneyland and he allowed our group of 14 to “jump the line” and go through the VIP line. He was definitely in his happy place at Disneyland. Though it’s been many years since we attended Evergreen Baptist together, it was always fun to communicate with Art through Facebook and keep up with your beautiful family. He is now in the presence of our Lord in a new body, worshipping and praising God with the angels. May our Savior wrap His arms around you all and give you peace and comfort.
My deepest condolences to the family. Art will always be remembered for his kindness and laughter he brought to others. He will continue to live on through his daughters. Wishing the family peace and strength during this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss Fong family. I was hoping to visit Art yesterday. If I had the chance, I would have sung to him one of my favorite songs our church’s choir sings. Words are as follows:
Go now in peace,
Never be afraid
God will go with you each hour of every day.
Go now in faith,
Steadfast strong and true
Know He will guide you in all you do.
Go now in love, and show you believe
Reach out to others, so all the world can see.
God will be there, watching from above.
Go now in peace, in faith and in love.
Glen
Dear Pam,Jennae, Taylor and Neal
We are so sorry that Art is not longer with us on earth. The time was to little. As others have said and also you that we are thankful Art is no longer in pain and is in a much better place. He will be truly missed.
We are thankful to have had the good fortune of knowing Art and his always happy personality. We are also glad that we were able to spend time golfing with him. He was truly a man of devotion to his family and to the opportunities given him to serve the Lord in so many ways.
He was loved by many and he was truly blessed to have you all there with him during this brief but trying time. We pray for your comfort and time of rest and know that God is with you always, embracing you.
We have been and will continue to lift you all up as you deal with the seismic shift as Art has left your warm embrace for heaven. Holding you through emptiness, grief, pain, busyness of a different kind, and especially praying against fear for Pam. May your experience of God’s provision deepen even further, Pam. He hurts with you, and for you.
We are very to see this news. Rest in peace Art and may the Lord provide the Fong family peace and comfort at this difficult time.
Dear Pam, Taylor, Jannae and Neal,
We are deeply saddened to hear of Art’s passing, yet rejoice with you that he is now pain-free and in the presence of his loving Savior. We are grateful to have known Art and we remember his worshipful spirit, his readiness to serve whenever needed, his humor and jokes, and his faithfulness to the Lord through so many years. It is remarkable to witness how his faith was strengthened even in this last trial and how he persevered and trusted in the Lord until the end. We grieve with you and pray that the Lord would grant you grace and comfort in extraordinary measures and sustain you as you face the days ahead without Art’s presence here. You have so tirelessly and lovingly cared for Art until his final breath. We are praying for you and trust that our good God will carry you through each hour.
Love, the Gee family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Pam, and your daughters, and the many family and friends who are grieving this earthly loss. But we do not grieve as those who have no hope. May the Lord be the one you go to for comfort, strength, peace, and joy … always. Even though it was a very short time that we have known Art, we are grateful to the Lord for you, Pam, and Art. Love… Daniel, Renee, Melanie Poon
My heart goes out to Art’s family. I remember Art as always having a smile on his face! I knew him from the Schurr H.S. Band Boosters. My son is Vincent Garcia. Art was always ready to joke around! I’ll never forget him. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
Pam, Jannae and Taylor, the Lord’s comfort, grace and peace be with you. So thankful for Art’s faith and the confidence we have in knowing he is free from the sufferings of this world and alive with Christ now. Art will be missed but we know he could not be in better hands now. Julie’s and my hearts are with you.
Dear Pam, Taylor, Jannae and Neal,
Like so many of us who do not see each other regularly on Sundays, the last time I saw Art was at Disneyland at his place at the Haunted Mansion. We were so happy to “run into him” there while waiting in line. His casual and friendly greeting brought a warm sense of reunion with him. He has graduated to Heaven to be with his loving Father… away from pain and physical suffering. But, his absence on earth brings a great sense of loss to you…. we are praying that our Father will comfort and hold you tight as you miss him.
Rest in Peace Art! Thankful that you are no longer in pain and with our Lord in heaven. Condolences to the Fong family, may God help you through these tough times. and wishing you peace.
I am so very sad for your whole family. Art was one of the kindest people I had ever worked with. We had so many wonderful times together while we were at American Funds. I am so glad to know that he is out of pain and he is with the Lord now!!!!! I will keep you all in my prayers.
And on that day
When my strength is failing
The end draws near
And my time has come
Still my soul will
Sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years
And then forevermore
Pam, Jannae, and Taylor, as I think about dear brother Art in the presence of His Lord in the room specially prepared for his homecoming, that familiar verse came to mind. A song that Art selected as he led worship in Mississippi and Oklahoma on numerous relief team trips brings to mind fond memories and comfort as I imagine Art singing praises before the Lord for 10,000 years and forevermore.
May the Holy Spirit comfort you, protect you, and bind you together. May the unexplainable peace of God guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Hugs to each of you. With love, Craig & Laura.
I am so sorry to hear of Art’s passing. He was a member of San Gabriel Valley Basketball Officials association for many years. I have fond memories of working basketball games on the court with him. Always smiling and bringing his great spirit to the game. May God provide the Fong family strength and peace during this difficult time 🙏🏽
Sincerely,
San Gabriel Valley Basketball Unit President
Rest in peace Dear Art! You always made work enjoyable with your kindness and laughter. I will miss our conversations about cameras and Bruins vs. Trojans rivalry. My sincere condolences to Pam and the rest of the Fong family during these difficult times.
I’m so sorry for the loss of such a good guy! I was trying to work out a time this week to stop by. I’m sorry he left us so quickly, but on the other hand,I’m so glad that he didn’t have to suffer the pain for much longer. Glad to hear of all the quality time and joy that you had spending with him. Prayers for you all with love..
I’ll never forget the whole day our family got to spend with your family at the Magical Kingdom. Art is a storyteller! He truly made me laugh and all his wild experiences. I’ll always treasure the friendship we got to develop together. Can’t wait to smile and laugh together for eternity in a Kingdom far greater than the one here on earth! My heart is sad but I know God is sovereign. How Great Thou Art!
I’ll never forget the day our families got to spend at Disneyland together! Art is a storyteller! I enjoyed laughing and being goofy with him. Can’t wait until we laugh together and smile in each other’s presence, enjoying a greater Kingdom than the one we go to enjoy here on earth. 🙂 I know God is sovereign. How Great Thou Art!
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” (Romans 8:26)
Dear Pam, Jannae, Taylor — thank you for these updates. My heart goes out to you for your loss. Even Jesus wept when Lazarus died. He understands your loss. May you feel his presence as he comes alongside you to comfort you.
I sit in sackcloth and ashes for Art. He was a beautiful soul, always with a smile on, brought laughter into the room, had a great tenor voice that blended well with others, was never about ego, just a lovely man of faith and such a team player… I love you Art and will see you in Christ’s good timing my brother! Sincere hugs for your family and know God has them safely in His arms. Peace and love my friend…
We are soooo very sad to learn of Art’s passing. We know it is bittersweet to know he isn’t in pain anymore, and know the pain you feel is deep. We hold your family in our prayers. Art was an important part of my Disney Journey, and the journeys of all who worked with him. We are all better people because of him. Much love and many prayers for you all.
My heart is sad but I know you are in heaven. Well done, good and faithful servant!
Ours hearts go out to you in sympathy and love!
We know that Art has gone on to his everlasting reward that the Father has prepared for him from all eternity.
We ask our loving and merciful God to be with you as you face the coming days. May He provide you with the courage and strength at this difficult time and may He send you the support you will need in the coming days.
Please do not hesitate to call on us if we can be of help in any way.

Fong Family-Pam, Taylor and Jannae: we want to offer our deepest condolences to you on Art’s passing. May the Lord surround you with His comfort and care. We are praying for you in your time of sorrow and hope you feel the Lord’s near presence. We haven’t seen you guys much since we left EBCSGV, but we ran into Art last year at Disney. It was fun for our whole family to see him and chat with him. Sending love and hugs, the Peraltas: Nate, Lyane, Halle, Gabby, Emi and Shane.
Dear Fong Family,
Saying, “I am so sorry for your loss” doesn’t seem to be adequate and I have no words that will give any of you comfort. But you have great faith in the Lord which eventually will bring you solace. No doubt that Art is with God, he was a kind and righteous person. I will continue to pray for the eternal repose of his soul. May we all be as fortunate to be surrounded by loved ones when we are called home to the Father. God bless you all.
Sending love and prayers to your beautiful family. Art was a literal angel on this Earth and anyone who had the privilege of knowing him was even more blessed from that moment. I can still remember all the hugs and sweet conversations I had with him every time we worked together at Disney, and they are all ones I will cherish forever. While this world is dimmer without him, I pray that Art is now at peace and watching over you all. ♥️
Thankful your Dad is no longer in pain. We are so deeply saddened that he is no longer here to bring smiles to those here. We continue to pray for strength for your family while you are stricken with this immense grief.
So very sorry for your loss. But also relieved that he is no longer suffering & in pain. God has a plan for Art I know it involves endless laughter, smiles and love for all. Wishing you all peace & ease during your grief
