Art's Medical Journey

Room with a View

Pam Fong, January 25, 2025January 25, 2025

After spending three nights in the original wing of hospital where Art had roommates that would have the TV blaring all day and all night, he was moved to the oncology floor. It’s in one of the new towers, top floor. So now he’s in a private, spacious end room in the penthouse! 😆

Chemo began the evening of the 23rd. It all takes place in the room…4 hrs of the initial chemo followed by 48 hrs of a slow drip. I spent the night. Not too long into the treatment, Art began experiencing some nausea, muscle twitching at the eyes, tightness in his abdomen and sweatiness. Already I’m thinking, “this is just the start of treatment. Will he survive going through this?” No one wants to see their loved ones suffering.

From this room, there’s a view of the sunrise. As I watched the sunrise, I think God was telling me that just as His Son rose from the grave, we too will rise from this grave situation.

”The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.” -Lamentations 3:22-23

Today’s update: Art is extremely tired. It’s hard to see him like this. But we hold onto the hope of Jesus.

I will continue to pray for strength and healing while Art battles through his treatment, and for the side effects to calm down in time for him. I will also continue to pray for you, and the girls. Please take care of yourselves too, to keep your strength up.
If anything I can do to help, I’m only a few arrangements and a plane ride away.
